My empty cup

Sitting on a sea shore I see
A pit dug by kids playing

Often filled by waves
As soon as waves recede
It gets empty again

Kids bring water by buckets trying to fill it
But it is soon drained
They try hard
Efforts are frustrating

Only sea can fill it

A smile passes my face

Nice poem, Harshad. Someday they will understand.
Impatient adults watching may have a hard time waiting for this though.

The story of life encapsulated in that. Excellently deep and thoughtful.

You made a smile pass my face too...by the time they understand they too would be impatient adults...

How innocent are we as kids... We never give up... Even if success not found. the efforts are commendable... I wonder where it vanishes with age when it's needed the most! Very beautiful poem Harshad ji :)

Old pages invite prying eyes.
